Programming Committee Announced
Jon Fitzgerald has joined the leadership of the Puerto Vallarta Film Festival which will take place November 7-12, 2005. Fitzgerald will assist in overseeing the film festival as well as procuring major Studio films and inviting celebrity guests.
Fitzgerald has a solid career in the film industry and with film festivals.
He was co-founder and executive director of Slamdance.
He went on to become director of festivals for the American Film Institute.
In 2002, Fitzgerald became Executive director of “The Santa Barbara Film Festival“ Where he added new sidebars including showcase Planet Earth.
During his time at Santa Barbara, audiences increased 25% and sponsorship nearly doubled.
Currently, Fitzgerald is a partner in the Festival Consulting Group with Mitch Levine, former executive director of Palm Spring International Film Festival.
In addition to Fitzgerald and Levine, other members of the programming commitee include Alan Franey, executive director of the Vancouver Film Festival, Paula Astoraga Riestra and Michel Lipkes of the Mexico City Contemporary Film Festival and Robert James Roessel, executive director of the Puerto Vallarta Film Festival.
